What phones are compatible with the JAWKU Speed?

The JAWKU Speed has been verified and tested with all iOS 9.0 or later devices.  The Jawku Speed is verified and tested for Android phones of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and above and the Google Pixel 2 and above.  Android phone software 8 (Oreo) or higher is required for opperation. If you do not have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and above or a Google Pixel 2 and above the app will not work yet to its full verified accuracy.  If you have a phone that is not listed above please email support@jawku.com with any questions.

Muscle Blaster Opperation:

1. Muscle Blaster V2:Press and hold the top button for 1.5 seconds to turn on.  Release and single click the same button to select different speed settings.  To power off press and hold the power button for 1.5 seconds.
2. Muscle Blaster Chrome:Press and hold the button on the side of the handle for 1.5 seconds and then release.  The massage gun will now be in ideal mode.  To activate the speed selection click the same button once and the massage gun will start operation in the first speed.  To turn off press and hold the same button for 1.5 seconds.
3. Muscle Blaster Mini: Press and hold the bottom button for 1.5 seconds to turn on.  Release and single click the same button to select different speed settings.  To power off press and hold the bottom button for 1.5 seconds.

What Distances Will This Track? 

Any distance really, but make sure you can keep an eye on your phone (the phone acts as the finish line). We preloaded common distances for team sports and track and field. The same goes for agility tests. You can time any distance - the responsibility is on you to run somewhere you can measure the distance (marked field, track, etc.). JAWKU Speed measures any distance from point A to point B (start to finish). 

How Accurate is JAWKU?

We performed a battery of tests over a span of years to design this technology in a way it could deliver on our promise. Our mission was to design JAWKU Speed so it was as easy to use as a stopwatch but as accurate as the leading timing systems in the world. 

Using JAWKU Speed in Movement Mode

1. Set up the test, choose your distance and select MOVEMENT MODE.
2. Put the phone in the stand at the finish line (vertically, portrait orientation) with the front phone camera directly lined up with the finish line.
3. After you hit READY, go to the start line.
4. When ready to run click the JAWKU button on the wristband and hold steady for at least a two-count.
5. Start the sprint and run. The time will start tracking. A successful start will trigger a beep. If you do not hear the beep, something went wrong and you'll need to re-initiate the test
6. Run past the finish line in front of the camera and your time will be recorded. For the best results, finish your sprint within 2-4 feet of the phone at the finish line.

Using JAWKU Speed in Audible Mode

For audible mode do all the same as movement to set up the test.

1. Once at the starting position get set and then click the JAWKU button on the wristband.
2. There will be three beeps.
3. Once the third beep goes off take off and start your run. The third beep is always altered slightly so you can’t jump the gun.
4. If you do jump the gun you will get a false start long beep and have to restart.
5. This mode will give the athlete their reaction time. 

App Says My Sensor is Disconnected

Don't worry. The sensor will disconnect once out of range (Bluetooth has a range of 30 feet +/-) and that is normal. Once you get closer to your phone, the sensor will reconnect, it will sync and everything will operate as intended.

Random Beeps?

The sensor will beep to let you know you are out of Bluetooth range. This is absolutely normal and the test will still work.  Perform the test and once you come back into range you will hear another beep from the sensor. 

Requires a Connection

The JAWKU app and sensor requires a sufficient cellular or wi-fi connection to function properly. 

Agility Tests

For agility runs if it is something other than 5-10-5 (in which case the athlete should straddle the phone camera with the phone camera 2-4 feet in front of them for the start) or 3-cone drill you would want to use the mode Build-a-Drill. Build-a-Drill allows the coach or athlete to track any timed test they can think of. The splits are the amount of times the athlete will cross the finish line or camera. If it was a 60-yard shuttle the athlete would start in the plain of the camera and then each down and back touching the line the camera is on which is also the finish line would be the split. So the 60-yard shuttle would be three splits. There are also a couple demonstration videos on you tube if you type in JAWKU demonstration videos and many more coming as well.

Flying Times

1. For flying times you need two JAWKUs and two phones or iPads or one of each.
2. Set the first phone at the first distance of the flying time and then the second one at the final distance for the flying time.
3. Place both JAWKUs on the same arm. Once you cross both phone the times will pop up and the difference between the two times is the flying time!

The phone should be vertical in the stand or tripod

Tracking Multiple Athletes

For tracking multiple athletes, there are a few ways to do it.

1. The first is to have multiple sensors and then have them all connected to the phone, rename each sensor after your athletes or JAWKU 1 and JAWKU 2 ect. This way the athletes can simply wear the JAWKU and do not need to switch it to the other athlete. Once the complete the test you simply write their name in the notes section, click change JAWKU on the profile page to the next JAWKU the next athlete is wearing, and then you are good to Test again.
2. The second way is to have two phones or iPads back to back and two JAWKUs and then you can run two at a time.
3. The third way is to have each athlete created a log in and when it is their turn to test they simply log in and out to the next athlete using the same JAWKU sensor which only takes 15 seconds. 

 

 

Warranty Information:

All products purchased through JAWKU or an authorized reseller are covered by a 12-24-month warranty depending on when the product was purchased and the product that is purchased. If you need to start your warranty process, send us an email at support@jawku.com and our team will give you the information to receive the replacement if you are within your warranty. Shipping costs to and from the customer will need to be covered by the customer for warranty replacements.  International customers will have to cover the shipping to and from for the warranty replacement as well as any import/customs fees associated with the replacement order.

Muscle Blaster V2: 1 year if purchased before October 1, 2021. 2 years if purchased after October 1^st, 2021.

Muscle Blaster Mini: 1 year if purchased before October 1, 2021. 2 years if purchased after October 1^st, 2021.

Muscle Blaster Chrome: 1 year if purchased before October 1, 2021. 2 years if purchased after October 1^st, 2021.

Power Shaker Bottle: 1 year

Accessory Tripod: 1 year

Parachute: 1 year

Ladder: 1 year

Training Cones: 1 year

If you did not purchase directly from Jawku a receipt is still REQUIRED. If you do not have a receipt or received the item as a gift, please contact the seller of the item or the individual who gave the gift for the receipt. Jawku only covers replacements by Jawku Authorized resellers. Jawku does own exclusive rights to sell on Amazon, eBay, and Walmart services so be aware of this when purchasing an item from a third-party individual or online vendor on these platforms if the seller is not Jawku.

JAWKU SPEED Android App:

The android app has now relaunched with updates for Samsung Galaxy S8+ phones and above and Google Pixel 2 phones and above.  Android phone software 8 (Oreo) or above is required for opperation  Due to the hardware and cameras used in various different manufacturers the Android app will only work perfectly for Samsung Galaxy S8 and above Phones and Google Pixel 2 and above Phones.  If you do have another phone that is not listed as compatible, the app will not work perfectly for your testing. We are working hard to add more android platform phones to the list.  If you are having any issues with your android app on the phones listed as compatible, please email us at support@jawku.com and we will assist you with the issue.
