Hot/Cold Ball Attachment Head

Stacking has been around since before peanut butter and jelly. Stacking is when you combine two or more things to create something better. In this case, heat or cold stacked with percussion massage via the new Hot/Cold Ball attachment head for the JAWKU Muscle Blaster V2.

Heating the Hot/Cold Ball
Heat therapy improves circulation and blood flow to a particular area due to increased temperature. Increasing the temperature of the afflicted area even slightly can soothe discomfort and increase muscle flexibility. Heat therapy can relax and soothe muscles and heal damaged tissue.

Applying heat and massage to an inflamed area will dilate the blood vessels, promote blood flow, and help sore and tightened muscles relax. Improved circulation can help eliminate the buildup of lactic acid waste occurs after some types of exercise.

The benefits of the heating the Hot/Cold Ball attachment head of the V2 Muscle Blaster can include:

  • May help those with arthritis: Joint inflammation can cause pain and stiffness, and heat may relieve this. Some evidence suggests it may temporarily increase elasticity of connective tissues.
  • Relieves lower back pain: According to a literature review, heat therapy has been shown to be effective for short-term reductions in lower back pain.
  • Useful for DOMS: Delayed onset muscle soreness is that achy feeling that you get about 24 to 48 hours after a tough workout. However, once you start feeling that soreness, evidence suggests that heat therapy may help support muscle repair and recovery. Researchers believe it’s more effective for delayed onset muscle soreness at that point compared to cold therapy.
  • Preparation for exercise: It has been shown to benefit those with excess scar tissue or those experiencing areas of tightness before a workout. Heat helps increase blood flow to the area and increases tissue elasticity so the muscles are ready to work.
  • May help with muscular rehabilitation: Research suggests that heat-based interventions may improve muscular health after injuries that lead to temporary immobilization or reduced movement. Heat may reduce the loss of muscle mass and/or improve elements of muscular contraction in these situations.

Freezing the Hot/Cold Ball
On the other hand, cold therapy can also aid in recovery. This leads to better gains, faster improvement, and can be the difference between reaching and not reaching your goals. The more effectively you recover, the quicker your back training.

Looking for cool, quick recovery? Freezing the Hot/Cold attachment head of the V2 Muscle Blaster combines percussive massage with cold therapy for faster recovery. The real magic of the cold attachment head is that it is not freezing when against the skin… I would call it chilled.

The chilling effects have been known to have the following benefits:

  • Boosts circulation, bringing blood to the surface of the skin
  • Encourages optimum cell function
  • Decreases inflammation
  • Speeds the recovery process
  • Increases relaxation of muscle tissues and skin
  • Calms the nervous system
  • May improve mood and mental clarity

From a practical standpoint, there may also be a benefit in using a hot head first and then following up with the cold.
